Crotched Mountain: Trick or Jib

- October 31, 2010

I headed out to Crotched Mountain yesterday for a few hours to check out their pre-season rail jam: Trick or Jib. Consisting of two features, about 50 or so participants at varying times, a few tents, some music, and lots of dirt & mud, the rail jam was actually a great time for all of us in need of giving our boards a little action.

It was too warm to make snow, which meant snow was being trucked in a shoveled onto the ever melting take-off’s and landings. We all got a little dirty, but in the end it was worth it to get my snow legs back into shape and really get pumped up for the upcoming East Coast season.

The event was your traditional jam with no real rhyme or reason. Just get in line, fight your way to the front, and drop in. The crowd, filled with both boarders and skiers, was pretty diverse in talent from what I could see. From learners to amateurs, everyone seemed to have a good time regardless. Surprisingly there may have actually been more skiers than boarders, but such is the trend lately.

Yeah, the pics arent the best, but I made sure to snap a few before heading out. I also grabbed this video clip below to give you an idea of what went down during the event. Although I didn’t get too many good tricks, there were some decent boarders there that definitely had style and were throwing down the steez.

Thanks to Crotched Mountain, Bean Snowboards, Eastern Boarder, Monster Energy and Steez Magazine for putting this thing together and cant wait to get out there once there’s actually some real snow! See you all on the trail in a few more weeks!
