What is a Panty Tree?

The Legacy

If your an avid skier or snowboarder, chances are that you have run across a panty tree in your lifetime. Perhaps it was just one bra, or maybe if you’re lucky, it was an assortment of panties, bras & beads galore. Panty trees have been around for years, and to be honest, im not too sure on their origins. What I do know is that I have seen one at almost every mountain while chilling on the chair lift. Usually they are rebelled against by the resort and gone the next season, only to return with fresh panties the following winter.

OK, by this point many of you must know what I’m talking about, although I’m sure a few of you are still a bit baffled. To be straight to the point, a “panty tree” is a tree decorated with under garments, generally near a chair lift, where the assortment of clothing and accessories were thrown from. It’s a tradition, an icon & and to some, a work of art.

Panty Tree Productions

A few years back a couple friends that loved to ski & snowboard began to idolize the panty tree. To them, it was it was a symbol of expression, freedom and a love for the sport. After much thought and a few alcoholic drinks Panty Tree Productions was created to spread the love for the Panty Tree. Aside from video editing services, they also offer a wide array of Panty Tree products for sale on their website such as the following t-shirts.
